How to Promote Healthy Nutrition within Your Home

It's often said in parenthood that the most important work you'll do will be within the walls of your home.

Of course, this applies to SO many things, but one that we find important here at 515 is promoting healthy nutrition within your home. After all, it is #NationalNutritionAwarenessMonth!

We all know kids (and even teens) can grow to be picky eaters and it can be hard to find a balance between eating healthy but also finding meals your family will want to eat!

So, here are a few helpful strategies we've come up with.

1. Have regular family meals.
2. Serve a variety of healthy foods and snacks. Let them find their favorites!
3. Be a role model and choose healthy snacks and ingredients for your meals.
4. Involve your kids in the process. This one will really make a difference and keep things fun for your littles!
5. Don't battle over food. Establish a schedule of meal and snack times and don't force your kids to clean their plates.

Family schedules are hectic and grab-and-go food can seem easier, but taking time to plan meals with your family and model the importance of healthy eating is a game changer for living a healthy lifestyle together!
