5 Tips for Dealing with Negative Thoughts

The power of positive thinking is a real thing.

We all have those days where negative thoughts creep in, we're extra hard on ourselves, or we just can't seem to get out of this weird funk.

You're not alone in dealing with negative thoughts.

Finding ways to combat it is even more important, and we have a few tips we hope will lead you to better and brighter days! 🏼

1. Be conscious of your thoughts.
When you find yourself thinking negative thoughts or feelings, be intentional about recognizing it and do your best to shift your thinking.

2. Keep busy.
Keep your hands and mind busy by doing tasks like writing, laundry, cleaning, organizing, etc. This helps you stay focused on other things besides the negative thoughts.

3. Avoid triggers.
If you're aware of the things or people who trigger negative feelings, be diligent about staying away from these things. Surround yourself with people who make you feel your best.

4. Allow your body to get enough rest.
Not getting enough sleep takes a huge toll on your body and mind as a whole. Get enough rest at night, or if you feel the need to, take a nap during the day.

5. Listen to your favorite music.
Studies have proven that listening to your favorite music for at least 25 minutes a day drastically improves your mood. Crank up those tunes and dance it out!
